The Digital Marketing Revolution. Is Sri Lanka Ready?



Sri Lanka is my mother country. In the world no other country some with srilanka . srilanka has big history .more than 74% peoples are sinhala.70% of Buddhism. Our peoples are very different among other peoples. Because srilankans have their own values related with the Buddhist culture. Other hand srilanka is still developing country that 100$ billion GDP per year. so  peoples are called srilanka is poor country. I don’t know “I am right”? So srilankans haven’t any money to spent for other wants.20% peoples are very poor,60% middle level and other 20% rich peoples.90% total income goes to 20% peoples .so I try to say about my mother country actual situation . 

    marketing is myopia.in my world marketing is playing with human felling and money.. Weston countries and american countries are very rich countries .their GDP going with $trillions.buying power is very high .those countries only focus their economic numbers.
srilnakan marketers like western marketers. because flow of knowledge coming by western.they want to tell they work like western peoples work, but srilanka is different form other countries. 

what is the digital marketing? if hear this question ,you mind go to about social meadi. because it is key factors in digital marketing which market their  product via digital media.facebook,twitter,google+,youtube,myspace and hi5 are world famous social medias which earnings very high in few years.google,yahoo,bring search engine ppc and optimization other way of digital marketing.

srilanka population is 21 millions ,it is not big population as well as other countries.so internet users 3.2 milions (15%),faceook users 1.5 milions (0.75%),twitter 25000(0.012%) .in this data not suitable or digital marketing revolution .becouse only 15% have internet and other 85% peoples without internet ,we can't think about revolution.most of internet users in age(15-25).actually they are not consumer in srilanka.in srilanka context 95% consumers  are father or mother who can't get something via digital marketing .
